There are many "flavors" of 78 rpm records.  For the purpose of our service we will differentiate between Commercial Releases and what we call " Home Made Records".
   

A Commercial Release 78 rpm is a 78 rpm record that was purchased already recorded.  The record was pressed in thousands of copies and it usually has a colorful label, printed with the name of the artist and song/album.  This type of record is made of shellac (a material that is heavy and easily breakable).  
   

Please also read the information for Home Made Records, just to be sure you record is indeed a Commercially produced 78rpm and not a Home Made Record.  If you submit by mistake a Home Made Record for transfer as a Commercial 78rpm, we will be unable to process the order.

We ask our customers to use common sense in what to expect for final quality from old 78rpm records: if a record is in horrible condition, the CD will NOT sound perfect.  It will sound better than the original record, but better than "horrible" is "very bad"!  It is better to have modest expectation that will be exceeded, than to have unrealistic expectations and be disappointed.  Restoring a bunch of 50-60-70 year records that sat in the attic for the last 40 years is a gamble: the end result may be great, horrible, or somewhere in the middle.  We, as professionals, will tilt the odds in favor of "quality".  However, we do not participate in the gamble. 

These records are noisy.  Ordering Sound Restoration is highly recommended.

The basic price of the CD with Sound Restoration includes 1 (one) restoration for the entire CD. 

This works well if all the 78's come from the same set.  It does not work well for mixed 78rpm's, from different sources.

If the records are important for you, we can do a better job if we restore each song (or each record) individually.  Please select as many Individual Restoration Units as needed.  We perform one separate restoration for each Individual Restoration Units.  Each Individual Restoration Unit is $14.25.  (You will find the Individual Restoration Units later on the order form.)

If you have several 78 RPM sets to put on 1 CD, use a separate Individual Restoration Unit for each set.

We ask our customers not to send in records that are warped or otherwise damaged.  Occasionally we receive records in bad shape.  If a record is warped or has other playback problems we will charge a Recording Fee of $14.25 (or multiples of $14.25, depending of the problem) per record. 

Please make sure your record is NOT a Home Made Record.  We will NOT accept for processing Home Made Records at the "78rpm Commercial Releases" rates.
