If the material is in Public Domain, we require a
written statement from the client indicating

copyright status of the material to be restored and has found
that it is in Public Domain.

2. That the client assumes all responsibility
for any disputes that may arise as to copyright issues.

2. Credit
 |
We will require credit on the distributed material, regardless of the from of distribution (electronic or in physical form).

SERVICES and PRICES
for Professional Sound Restoration.

There are 5 levels of Sound Restoration (depending on the quality of the source recording) and a Sound ReMastering option.

determine the Sound Restoration Level required for completing the
job. (We determine the Sound Restoration
Level.)

SOUND RESTORATION
 |
A. Sound Restoration Level 1.
 |
The quality of the source recording is excellent.
Typical sources in this condition is Magnetic Audio Tape (reel-to-reel tape) recorded in the studio or recorded live with studio equipment.

B. Sound Restoration Level 2.
 |
The quality of the recording source is good. There are no impulse noises (clicks).
Typical sources in this condition is Magnetic Audio Tape (reel-to-reel tape) recorded with consumer equipment or other forms of tape (cassette, audio from video tapes, etc.)

C. Sound Restoration Level 3.
 |
The quality of the recording source is good, but there are impulse noises (clicks) or there is audible hum.
Typical sources in this condition are LP's, microgroove 33rpm or 45rpm records, 33rpm singles or 45rpm extended play. Also, glass masters and tapes.
There are audible clicks, but no scratches or crackle.
For tapes, there is audible hum, but no external continuous noises to filter out.

D. Sound Restoration Level 4.
 |
The quality of the recording source is bad. There are impulse noises, larger clicks, and possible continuous noises to filter out.
Typical sources in this condition are 78rpm commercial records, 16 inch transcriptions, well-worn LP's and 45rpm's, tapes recorded with poor quality equipment.

E. Sound Restoration Level 5.
 |
The quality of the recording source is extremely bad. There are impulse noises, scratches, incorrect recording levels, possible continuous noises to filter out.
Typical sources in this condition are 78rpm lacquers, home-made-records. LP's played too many times or played with faulty needles, tapes recorded with poor or faulty equipment, tapes or records stored improperly.

SOUND REMASTERING
 |
Options A-E deal mainly with restoring the sound of the recording to the original sound, produced by the original sound engineer and producer. Although we may compensate for gross sound imbalances, we do not re-engineer the sound recording.

The client specifies SOUND
REMASTERING. It is our task, upon listening, to
determine the Sound ReMastering Option required for completing the
job. (The client DOES NOT determine the Sound ReMastering
Option.)

F. Sound ReMastering Option 1
 |
Sound ReMastering option 1 will enhance a clean, but otherwise mediocre sound.
|
|
 |
G. Sound ReMastering Option 2
 |
Sound ReMastering option 2 will attempt to enhance a faulty original recording.
|
|
|
 |
COST
|
 |
The cost of a professional Sound Restoration (and optional Sound ReMastering) job depends on:
 |
a) The condition of the original material
|
 |
b) The degree of sound improvement required.
|
|
 |
Upon listening to the original material we will determine the Sound Restoration Level that applies to for each recording.
|
 |
If Sound ReMastering is selected by the client, we will also
determine the Sound ReMastering option required for each recording.
|
 |
There is a minimum of $150 per Professional Sound
Restoration job.
|
 |
EXAMPLES OF PRICING SCENARIOS
 |
The best case scenario:
Mastering a 1 hour CD from a reel-to-reel tape in excellent condition (Sound Restoration Level 1), with light hiss, that does not need to be ReMastered,
will cost $210.00

The middle case scenario:
Mastering a 1 hour CD from LP (or 45rpm) records in good condition (Sound Restoration Level 3), with Sound ReMastering Option 1,
will cost $549.00

The worst case scenario:
Mastering a 30 minute CD from poorly preserved 78rpm lacquers, with Sound ReMastering Option 2,
will cost $480.00

PAYMENT
 |
Professional Sound Restorations are not ordered via our
consumer Order Form. After the copyright clearance requirement has
been met and all our policies have been agreed to an invoice will be
forwarded.
|
 |
We are not able to extend credit.
|
 |
We accept payment by Credit Card, Money Order (Cashier's Check) or PayPal
direct account transfer. Recordings are shipped only when funds have cleared and been deposited into our account.
|
 |
We prefer to receive master recordings in batches representing 2-4 weeks of work at our capacity as described above.
|
 |
We will bill and ship product in increments representing approx $2000 billed.
Client is responsible for shipping costs. For return shipping, we will charge actual shipping cost +
10% of shipping cost (if paying by credit card) + $7.00 per box (for
packing and handling).

 |
QUALITY, RETURNS and DISPUTES
 |
We believe in the excellent quality of our product. We have thousands of clients form all continents (except Africa and Antarctica). Most of our clients who have recurring Sound Restoration projects are repeat customers, some have done dozens of projects with us.
|
 |
All sales (Sound Restoration and optional ReMastering) are final.
Any re-work and free additional work will be performed entirely at our discretion.
We may authorize re-work and free additional work (solely at our
discretion) if we find that we have made a mistake or omission.
Defects or perceived defects caused by the poor quality of the original
recording(s) will not constitute a basis for re-work or free additional work. Such defects or perceived defects, if
it will be technically possible to provide an improvement, will be worked on at our studio rate of
$115 per hour.
Non-sufficient funds checks will incur a $50 administrative fee per non-sufficient funds check.
Declined credit cards will incur a $40 administrative fee per attempted charge. We expect that funds will be immediately available for charge or deposit. Any delays in payment or defaults will be charged interest at a corresponding APR of 21.24%.
Credit Card disputes introduced in spite of our terms and conditions will incur a non-disputable $60 charge per dispute dismissed by the credit card
company. This will be charged when the credit card rules in our
favor.
If the matter is escalated and requires arbitration, arbitration ruled in our favor by the Credit Card company will incur a $400 non-disputable charge per
incident. This will be charged when arbitration is ruled in our
favor or when arbitration was requested, but subsequently forfeited by
client.
